Answers on send checks, sunrise scheduling, amphorae, importing from Gmail or Outlook, passkeys and billing. Real people in Athens reply within a working day.
What the oracle checks before you send
The oracle reads every message in the moment between pressing Send and the message leaving. It looks for six things: an attachment you mention but haven’t attached, a recipient address that differs from the one you usually use, reply-all to ten or more people, a delivery time that falls in the recipient’s night, a subject line that no longer matches the body, and a greeting that names someone other than the recipient.
Each warning explains itself in one line and offers a fix, such as “Attach the proposal” or “Schedule it”. You can always choose Send anyway. The oracle is an adviser, never a gatekeeper.
Turn a send check off, or write your own
Go to Settings → The oracle. Every check has its own switch, so you can silence the ones you don’t need without losing the rest.
On Ionic and Corinthian you can add custom checks in plain terms, for example “Warn me before sending to an external address on a Friday afternoon” or “Remind me if a message to a client has no signature”. Corinthian admins can apply checks to the whole team.
Why the oracle flagged a recipient
The oracle compares every address with the people you actually write to. When an address is one or two characters away from a regular contact, such as anna.petrov@ instead of anna.petrou@, it asks before sending, because that is exactly how confidential mail ends up with a stranger.
If the new address is correct, choose Keep this address. The oracle remembers and won’t ask again.
Does the oracle read my drafts on your servers?
No. The oracle runs entirely inside your browser and the Stellomail apps. Your drafts are checked on your own device and are never uploaded, logged or analysed on our side for this purpose.
That is also why the oracle keeps working when you’re offline: it checks the message as you write, and the message waits in your Outbox until you’re connected again.
Schedule a message for their morning
Tap the sun beside Send and choose Their morning. Pick the hour, and we deliver at that time in the recipient’s own time zone. With several recipients in different places, choose whose morning matters, or let each person receive it at their own sunrise.
Scheduled messages wait in the Scheduled folder until they leave.
How Stellomail works out their time zone
Every email includes a time-zone offset in its headers. When a contact has written to you, we read it from their most recent message. Otherwise we use the time zone on their contact card.
If we can’t tell, the oracle asks you once and remembers. This information stays with your contacts and is never shared with anyone.
Change or cancel a scheduled message
Open the Scheduled folder and select the message. Choose Edit to change the words or the time, Send now to deliver it straight away, or Cancel to move it back to Drafts.
You can make changes right up until the moment it leaves.
Create an amphora
Select any text in a message you’ve written and choose Save as amphora, or go to Settings → Amphorae → New. Give it a short name you’ll recognise, and it appears on the amphora shelf in the composer.
To use it, open the shelf, or type a double slash (//) followed by its name, and the words pour straight into your message, ready to adjust.
Personalise amphorae with placeholders
Amphorae understand simple placeholders. Write {first name}, {company} or {day} and Stellomail fills them in from the recipient and the calendar as the amphora pours.
Anything it can’t fill is highlighted so you never send a message that still says {first name}.
Share amphorae with your team
On Corinthian, any amphora can be moved to a shared shelf. Everyone on the team sees it in their composer, and when someone improves the wording, the whole team gets the better version.
Admins can lock shared amphorae so approved wording, such as legal replies or refund confirmations, stays exactly as written.
Import from Gmail, Outlook or iCloud
Go to Settings → Import, choose your old provider and sign in with them. Your mail, contacts, calendars and labels come across in the background, so you can keep working while it runs. Big mailboxes can take a few hours.
The access you grant is used only for the import and is discarded the moment it finishes. The oracle then learns who you usually write to from your history, so its recipient checks are useful from day one.
Set your sign-off and signature
Go to Settings → Signature. Choose a sign-off such as Warmly, Best, Yours or Ἔρρωσο, and add anything you like below your name. New messages will close with it automatically.
You can keep different signatures for different addresses, which is handy if you also send from your own domain.
Get Stellomail on your phone and computer
Stellomail works in any modern browser at stellomail.com, and there are apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS and Windows. Sign in with the same address and everything, including your amphorae and scheduled messages, stays in step.
Prefer another mail app? Ionic and Corinthian include IMAP and SMTP access. The oracle’s checks only run in Stellomail’s own apps.
Use your own domain
On Ionic and Corinthian, go to Settings → Domains → Add domain and type the domain you own. We show you the DNS records to add at your registrar, including MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and check them automatically.
Most domains are verified within an hour. Your @stellomail.com address keeps working alongside it.
Set up a passkey
Go to Settings → Security → Passkeys and choose Add passkey. Your phone or computer will ask for your fingerprint, face or device PIN, and that’s it.
From then on you can sign in with one tap, and there’s no password for anyone to phish. You can add passkeys for each of your devices.
Can’t sign in to your account
First, make sure you’re using your full address, including @stellomail.com, and that Caps Lock is off. If the password still isn’t accepted, choose Forgot? on the sign-in page and we’ll send a 6-digit code to your recovery email or phone.
No longer have access to your recovery details? Write to support@stellomail.com from any address. We’ll verify that the account is yours before we change anything, which can take up to two working days.
Change or cancel your plan
Go to Settings → Plan. Upgrades apply straight away and are prorated to the day. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Yearly plans cancelled within 14 days of payment, including renewals, are refunded in full. Your mail is never deleted because you downgrade.
Export or delete your data
Go to Settings → Privacy → Export to download your mail as MBOX, your contacts as vCard and your calendars as iCal. It works on every plan, as often as you like.
To close your account, go to Settings → Account → Close account. Your mail is erased from our live systems within 30 days and from backups within a further 60.
